Nightly update: simpler network policy, safer defaults

This nightly tightens up how MachineFabric handles outbound network access. The old split between third-party only and no telemetry was harder to reason about than it needed to be and was an artifact of the previous design. We collapsed that into one clearer mode.

What changed

  • Network access mode is now a three-mode model:
    • Offline
    • No Telemetry
    • Online
  • No Telemetry is now the default behavior across the app and the engine. That mode allows operational traffic like cartridge registry checks, capdag.com, cartridges.machinefabric.com, and model registry access, but still blocks PostHog telemetry.
  • The old third-party only mode has been removed from settings, app state, and the status bar UI. There is now one clear non-telemetry online mode instead of two overlapping ones.
  • Startup and settings fallback behavior is stricter and more consistent. If the saved mode is missing or invalid, MachineFabric now falls back to No Telemetry instead of drifting into a more permissive state, which was the case for development builds.
  • The welcome tour and in-app copy were updated to match the new policy model.

Notes

  • This is a nightly build intended for testing and feedback.
  • Most of the work in this build is policy cleanup and consistency rather than new end-user features.
